The Daubert 360° programme is an expert consultancy service rendered through our Daubert Global Support Network. It is an extension of our Global solution engineering program which provides an end-to-end solution to our customers across the world. It helps our customers in shipping corrosion-free parts, evaluating new projects, designing cost-effective packaging alternatives, and analysing the root cause behind corrosion-related issues.

Under the Daubert 360° programme, we work for customers to offer a holistic approach to corrosion prevention, including:

  • TECHNICAL STUDY and monitoring of the upstream and the downstream process, FMEA and related improvements.
  • PACKAGING DESIGN study and optimization for corrosion protection and economics.
  • VALIDATION services for proposed methods from both the laboratory and field simulation.
  • DESTINATION SUPPORT at the customer's receiving location through shipment inspection and end customer approvals.

Corrosion experts at Zavenir Daubert India & International experts at Daubert come together to conduct this activity at both the supplier's end and the receiver's end, whether domestic or international.

Daubert 360° case study:

In a recent case, one of the world’s largest forging companies, a Daubert user since 2012, engaged in a prestigious project which would be their first foray into the cast iron crankshaft arena and solicited Zavenir Daubert’s support. These parts were to be supplied to a large OEM’s plant in South America. In early 2019, Zavenir Daubert worked on the project and proposed an entire CCPP (Cut-Clean-Protect-Pack) solution to the customer, including Water soluble and Cleaning Fluids, NOX-RUST Rust Preventives and Daubert VCI Packaging.

A comprehensive validation process was established during the setup of the line in partnership with the OEM to assess the various aspects of the recommendations, such as:

  • Millipore value of the parts at various stages of manufacturing,
  • Post packaging and before assembly in the OEM’s plant,
  • Compatibility of the used Rust Preventive Oils,
  • The OEM engine oil uses advanced infrared techniques, in addition to the validity of the corrosion preventive's life through extensive field trials and accelerated corrosion testing of pilot batches.

 

Various aspects of the seasonal interfaces were analysed both at the manufacturing location in India and the receiving location in South America.

More than a year of assessment later, as the COVID-19 outbreak took place, the parts need to be stored beyond their intended periods. To mitigate any possibilities of corrosion, counter-measures were taken by a cross-functional team supported by the Daubert 360 network ensuring complete continuity in the supply chain.
